I love to cook healthy meals from scratch and can fruits and vegetables for my family.  So when I was given the privilege to review Daisy Luther’s book, The Organic Canner, I was excited!  I’m always looking for new canning recipes.  I was not disappointed.

The Organic Canner starts off with an introduction to canning.  Daisy shares how to safely use your water canner or pressure canner with step by step instructions that are easy to understand.  The next section includes loads of delicious recipes.  The recipes are divided into different sections, including jams, condiments, fruits, vegetables, nuts, meat, meals in a jar and beans.  Yes, Daisy even includes an entire section to can nuts!  What a great way to keep nuts fresh.  I’m really interested in the meals in a jar section, the Beef Stroganoff and Hungarian Goulash recipes in particular!  We are busy here on the homestead, having healthy real food and fast meals ready to go would be wonderful and a great time saver  I’m definitely going to give these meals in a jar recipes a try!

The Organic Canner is great for beginners or experienced canners alike.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to feed their family healthy, nourishing food and is interested in canning.  The fun recipes in this book will have you canning everything from pickles to Split Pea Soup in no time!

You can purchase The Organic Canner by Daisy Luther here.  Happy canning!
