About

Homestead In The Holler is a blog about how our family is building our farm using natural techniques to manage soil fertility, soil creation, manage water, and produce healthy products in the Missouri Ozarks.

As northerners, we were immediately drawn in by the warm locals and the comfortable, flowing speech of the “natives”.  We were especially drawn to the word “holler” as it just has such a nice ring to it.  Some may claim this is a backwoodsy area, but our feeling is that it is filled with good, hardworking people who know how to take care of themselves.  If that is backwoodsy, we like it.

We aim to share our journey with you.  This includes the stresses, failures, and woes but (we hope) also the successes and joys!  Please come along with us on the ride of our lives.
